Why fit comes first

The therapist you get matters more than the method

The strongest predictor of whether therapy works is the relationship between you and your therapist. That is what we match on first. Everything else follows from it.

  • Matched on what you're actually dealing with, not just who has an opening Thursday
  • Filter for what matters to you: gender, cultural background, LGBTQIA+ affirming, treatment approach
  • If it's not right after the first session, we move you. You don't have to have that conversation.

If any of this sounds familiar, therapy helps

Intrusive memories

Moments from the past show up uninvited, as vivid as ever.

Nightmares and restless sleep

Nights are the hardest part of the day.

Always on alert

Scanning for the exits, even somewhere you know is safe.

Avoiding reminders

Whole places, people, and topics are off-limits now.

Feeling numb or distant

Watching your own life from behind glass.

On edge and quick to startle

Jumpy, irritable, and tired of being braced all the time.

Before you ask

Do you take my insurance?
Our practice is in-network with Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna in New York. If your plan isn't listed, most out-of-network plans reimburse 30% to 100% of the session fee, and we help you file.
What will I actually pay?
It depends on your plan, which is exactly why we verify your benefits before your first session. You'll know your copay or session cost up front. No surprise bills afterward.
Are sessions virtual or in person?
Both. Most clients start with telehealth for convenience; in-person availability depends on the therapist you match with.
How soon can I be seen?
That depends on therapist availability and your plan. Tell us your preferred days and times in the form and we'll come back with real openings rather than a guess.
What if I don't click with my therapist?
Tell us, and we rematch you at no cost. You never have to have the awkward breakup conversation yourself. Fit is the whole point of how we work.
Do I need a diagnosis or a referral?
No. You don't need a referral, a diagnosis, or any paperwork to start. If a diagnosis is relevant for insurance coverage, your therapist handles that with you.
Is what I tell you private?
Yes. Your responses go only to our care coordination team and are never sold or shared with advertisers. Therapy sessions themselves are confidential under New York law, with the narrow safety exceptions every licensed therapist follows.

Start with the right therapist, not just the next available one

Two minutes. Free. And if the first match isn't right, we keep going until it is.
